nano-Engineered Metal Components for Photonics Applications

Abstract
There are needs for products with nano-scale, 10’s to 100’s of nanometer tolerances. Examples include optical fiber interconnects of various types, and MEMS packages. This talk presents means to address these needs.
Bio
Dr. Michael Barnoski, President/CEO Dr. Barnoski started nPP as a founding member in 2002. He graduated from Cornell University with masters and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering. He has over thirty years of management experience with companies such as Polaroid, Corning, Hughes Aircraft, Honeywell and TRW. Barnoski and his management team founded PlessCor Optronics, Inc. Under Barnoski leadership, PCO became a leading vertically integrated electrical-to-optical and optical-to-electrical interface supplier. He was previously a member of the Polaroid senior executive management team as an advisor to the Chairman and CEO. He was also CEO of UT Technologies, Inc., a contract engineering and manufacturing firm in the tool and die and stamped metal parts and subassemblies business. He is also a recognized expert in the fiber optics field as evidenced by being the recipient of the second John Tyndall award, awarded jointly by the IEEE and OSA in 1988. US Citizen.
